Espressif is seeking for Embedded Software Engineers with experience in embedded systems, microcontrollers, development tools, etc. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable making high level architecture decisions and implementing efficient code and best design practices
Major Responsibilities:
o Conceptualize, plan, design, analyze and test embedded and host-based software modules of the debugging/profiling infrastructure.
o Design new and analyze existing "host-target" communication protocols used for debugging, profiling and tracing embedded software.
o Design new and adapt existing solutions for programs behavioral analysis (automatic bottlenecks and deadlocks detection etc.).
o Participate in software architecture high level design decisions.
o Develop and maintain efficient codes written with best practices in mind.
o Develop and maintain product documentation.
o Work within a highly diverse technical team on cross functional integrated systems.
o Various other tasks and projects you choose to own.
Requirements:
o Proficient in C language, with strong real-time software development skills.
o Familiar with at least one scripting language (Python, shell, PowerShell).
o Experience using software development best practices - requirements capture, design reviews, code reviews, coding conventions.
Any of the following would be a plus:
o Understanding of RTOS internal operation (scheduler, synchronization primitives etc).
o Understanding of program executables binary structure and how it is used by OS.
o Knowledge of computer / SoC architecture, familiarity with microprocessor instruction sets.
o Practical experience with one or more assembler languages.
o Familiarity with internals of the following tools/technologies:
o Debugging: GDB, OpenOCD, JTAG.
o Tracing and profiling: gprof, valgring, SystemView etc.
o Experience with Docker
o Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI)
